The American Public Power Association (APPA) featured the work of the CMPAS 2020 Power Supply Coalition in the Public Power Daily blog this week. Quoting Kyle Haemig, "Essentially, there was an idea in 2010 that CMPAS would see if peer utilities with similar needs would be willing to join us. That way, we could use economies of scale to improve [contract] terms and to share planning costs. . . Generally speaking, prices fell by about 35% from the start of this [power supply coalition competitive bid] process until we executed [the contract] last November."
